My journey from BJP supporter to AAP volunteer.

Before I begin, let me reiterate the fact that I respect Shri Narendra Modi and appreciate his work in Gujrat. And wish him all the best for LS elections.

But whenever I hear BJP supporters expressing their anger towards AAP , I don't feel good.

I strongly believe in working for country rather than for a political party.
I used to support BJP before, but then something happened.

During the general elections of 2009, when Lal Krishna Advani was prime ministerial candidate, BJP lost big time, despite the anti-incumbency factor playing against congress.

Despite the display of helplessness of Manmohan Singh in 26/11 Mumbai attacks and despite his government not doing much, BJP failed to get into power, it was disheartening to see that the internal political aspirations of BJP leaders were letting the party down. 

During UPA-2, when the scams were getting exposed and the country was becoming a laughing stock of the world; the main opposition party just couldn't do much. I bet if BJP would have been in power and Congress was in opposition, Congress would have toppled BJP's government! But, apart from few speeches here and there from Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitely, nothing concerete could happen.

The nation was getting raped and butchered and my government was just not bothered! My Prime Minster was giving speeches to the nation that they don't have a magic wand! And to my surprise my beloved Opposition party was sleeping.BJP just failed to provide any form of deterrence to congress and corruption. 

Instead they themselves formed the most corrupt governments in Karnataka and Uttaranchal which resulted in re-election of Congress to power.

During the Janlokpal movment as well, I got disappointed with the way they acted and could not be of much help.I guess BJP was enjoying the JanLokpal movement as it was anti- government and anti congress.They knew that because of all this agitation, in 2014 general Elections BJP will eventually come to the power.
And hence were just happily waiting for their turn!

This was the time when Aam Admi party was formed, to fight this corrupt system.
This was the time when AAP won Delhi elections and BJP started to complain.

I seldom hear the funny acquisition of BJP supporters on AAP, that they will eat up BJP vote and they are here to stop Modi.

Lets go back in history and lets analyse a bit before start firing the guns on AAP.
Only once in last 33 years, since its existence, BJP was able to make a government. History has seen whenever the vote share of Congress has gone down, BJP has never benefitted out of it, it goes to parties like SP/BSP/TC etc.. 
In Delhi elections, AAP got 90 percent of Congress seats and virtually eliminated the third parties like BSP. BJP still was the single largest party and still got their loyal votes, but they could not win majority just because of their corruption in MCD, which they were ruling for last 7 years.

So, blaming AAP for defeat is like saying that we could have won the race if we were alone in the race! BJP should get ready to face the real competition on the track instead of just waiting to defeat the lame and already lost congress.

Even if BJP wins in Lok Sabha and Modi becomes the PM, the system will not change. Will internal politics of BJP allow Modi to take actions against his own corrupt and criminal MPs? Would he be able to fire the corrupt Yedurappa from party? Modi could do good to the country but only to an extent. He does not believe in changing the system, he is the system, which is fine till he is working but what will happen after him? After Modi, again we will get eaten up by Congress and Corruption because we have just changed the leader and not the system.

AAP movement is a change! It is a revolution which has awakened the common man of the country. This movement is meant to empower people, this movement is meant to make people ask questions to their leaders.
This movement is in true sense "Inqaualab" . AAP is not fighting against any party or leader, we want the entire system to change.The people want accountability, the people want value for their hard earned money which they pay as taxes.

AAP is the face of this new generation who does not have any tolerance, who does not believe in waiting for the things to happen, who does not accept assurance, who wants the action! And hence I support AAP.

Why is AAP movement more important than Modi.

When the anti-corrpution movement in Delhi started in 2011 it instigated a change, it ignited a hope. This hope gave rise to thousands of volunteers, thousands of people joining hands against a common cause.
This is where it all started.
From the grounds of RamLila where the people left their jobs and came in support of Anna, they started to form a community united by a common enemy.
Many would say that when Anna broke fast, govt promised to pass Lokpal and then did not; the movement failed. But it was Arvind Kejriwal who saved the movement by giving the movement its logical next step, the Aam Aadmi Party.
Thousands of volunteers from across the globe united for this cause. This AAP movement was bigger than the Jan-Lokpal movement. This was the start of a revolution.
This was an outburst of the anger of the common man who was just frustrated with all the bull shit going on in the country.

So I decided to get out of Facebook and go to the streets of Delhi. To my surprise the people were actually getting ready for the change. I happily waved at many people in metro and on roads wearing the AAP cap and the response was just amazing. Watching the news channels could easily make you think that the propaganda by BJP/Congress could change the people's mind. But, only after meeting the people, I realised that people are not as stupid as they are projected; they are really smart and understand everything thats why despite all the drama/criticism of BJP/congress AAP won 28 seats in Delhi assembly elections.

The most important part of democracy is involvement of people. This inculcates a sense of ownership and responsibility amongst the community. This is the key ingredient in the mature societies of the developed countries. It was not the great leaders like Modi or Kejriwal in the developed countries but, the people who after suffering for a long time, realised and woke up to their responsibilities, duties and rights which eventually gave birth to an ideology resulting into a robust system and tough laws.
This "No Tolerance" and "responsible" public made sure that the leaders who do the right things get elected, and if they f**k up are forced to exit.
Hence, whether it is be Clinton or Obama, the system in the US always works, giving rise to more Obamas and clintons.

Modi is one great leader who undoubtably is good and well suited for Indian public who are always waiting for Messiah to come and save their asses, while they can keep on sleeping. But this feeling has to go, people should not vote for Modi or Kejriwal but instead should get involved in decision making.

This is where Aam Admi Party and Arvind Kejriwal scores , they are working on a model to empower the people, they are following the true democracy and doing decentralisation of power so that tomorrow even if Arvind Kejriwal or Manish Sisodia gets corrupt and arrogant, people will just delete them!

We need a system like this and of course with great leaders to drive the mob.

Modi, on the other hand is a one man show. We saw in Karnataka, that despite having great leaders like Modi, Arun Jaitely, Sushma Swaraj, the party got corrupt. The reason was simple; they did not have a model or a system; they just rely on the leadership. BJP and Congress work on the same model , model of high-command and model of representative politics, which by itself gives great powers to few people which could be easily misused.
The downside of such system is that if you get corrupt leaders , you are very likely to get doomed (eg. 2G, commonwealth ,CoalGate.. etc. etc.. )
In such a system, we are left to the virtue of having a great leader like Vajpaye or Morarji Desai or Sardar Patel and to some extend may be Modi or Kejriwal, but it is not everyday we get such great leaders.
So should we just get looted in between while we wait for a saviour to come or we go ahead and fix our systems.
We need to make the people feel included in governance like a Gram Panchayat or a city council with people's say in it, that is the only way people will not only be responsible but will also make sure their leaders are working in a proper way. They will make sure that there is accountability and while doing that they themselves would be forced into being accountable.

This is how the present day democracies should work, and this is how most of the developed nations are working today. I strongly believe that our country is getting ready and geared up for this big change. Our very own Indian Revolution has begun and here we are knocking on the door of a new beginning.

"Be the change you want to see.." Bull Shit!!

The argumentative Indian said "Its in our mindset, its in our society, It is how we feel!! Making laws will not help until we change our mindset!  Be the change you want to see.."
I said.. BULLSHIT!!

I feel that's the most irresponsible and most exploited statement used by the people who hold the power in order to justify their incompetence to work hard and implement the change!

You can NOT just request the people to change!!They won't. History says it all!

Happy Independence Day !!

Happy Independence day :) ye ye ye .. cos today we don't have to go to office, don't have to struggle with traffic jams , we can enjoy a mid week holiday and post wishes and comments on FB..

Why should we care if the country is in distress, suffering in the hands of the corrupt, debauchery is awarded and truth seeking RTI activists are slaughtered mercilessly. Where mean, shrewd and corrupt hold high positions honest and hardworking are made to slog and suffer. Half of the country still doesn't get 1 meal everyday. And we export lakhs of tons of food.

But we are happy cos our salary has hiked (though taxes and inflation will eventually loot you anyways), we have booked a flat (your flat will not have good infra of roads,drainage,water and electricity), and bought a new car (though you will be spending large amount of time in traffic jams).
Things doesn't look that bad if you just think on your personal level and your view of bigger picture is blinded by your greed.

For all those happy souls celebrating the independence day, I have a story to tell.

26/11! Are we waiting to celebrate its anniversary now??

I guess that’s what we do best, create hype, discuss over and over,
I can imagine this coming 26/11, Media is brewing another spectacular story for this conjuncture .And we are all set with our popcorn bags to savor it!
Once again we will be filled with rage, start taking pledges against terrorism, abusing Pakistan, abhorring ministers, complaining about the system … this and that.
